Project Overview
We recently completed this full garden redesign in Halifax, transforming a tired and uneven outdoor space into a clean, modern patio area with new steps and improved layout throughout.
The original garden had a mix of old paving, uneven surfaces, and unused areas, which made the space feel cluttered and impractical. The aim was to completely refresh the area with a sleek, low-maintenance finish.
Preparation & Groundworks
We began by clearing the entire area, removing the existing paving, old materials, and any unwanted features to create a blank canvas.
The ground was then excavated and prepared, followed by the installation of a solid sub-base to ensure long-term stability and a level finish across the whole patio.
Drainage & Structural Work
As part of the redesign, we installed proper drainage solutions to manage surface water effectively and prevent any future issues.
A recessed manhole cover was also fitted, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the new patio without disrupting the overall look.
We used pressure-treated timber sleepers to create clean edging and structural definition around the space, helping to shape the layout and retain different levels.
Porcelain Patio Installation
The patio was laid using 20mm porcelain tiles, chosen for their modern appearance, durability, and low maintenance qualities.
Each tile was carefully set and aligned to create a smooth, consistent finish, with attention paid to spacing, levels, and overall presentation.
Step Construction
To improve access and flow within the garden, we installed a new set of steps, finished to match the patio and tied in neatly with the surrounding design.
These steps not only enhance usability but also add an extra visual feature to the space.
Finished Result
The completed project has completely transformed the garden into a modern, functional outdoor area that is both practical and visually striking.
The combination of porcelain paving, clean lines, and structured edging creates a sleek finish that will stand the test of time.
The full project was completed in just five days from start to finish.
