Indian Sandstone Patio Installation in Accrington
We recently completed this Indian sandstone patio installation in Accrington, transforming an old, uneven garden path and patio area into a clean, practical and attractive outdoor space.
The existing paved areas had become tired, uneven and overgrown, with loose slabs and weeds making the garden less usable. The customer wanted a fresh new patio and pathway that would improve access through the garden while creating a smart seating area at the top of the lawn.
Excavation & Ground Preparation
The project began with the removal of the original paving slabs and the existing pathway.
We then excavated the area and prepared the ground ready for the new installation. The shape of the new path was carefully formed to create a smooth curve through the garden, linking the lower patio area to the new patio space at the far end.
A new sub-base was installed and compacted to provide a strong, stable foundation for the sandstone paving.
Membrane & Base Installation
A membrane was installed beneath the new patio and pathway construction to help reduce weed growth and improve the long-term performance of the paved area.
The base was then built up and levelled, ensuring the patio and path had the correct falls for drainage while maintaining a neat and consistent finish throughout the garden.
Indian Sandstone Installation
The new patio and pathway were laid using Indian sandstone paving.
The natural colour variation in the stone gives the garden a much brighter and more modern appearance, while still blending well with the surrounding lawn, borders and planting.
Each slab was carefully positioned, cut and levelled to create a flowing pathway and a spacious patio area that feels connected to the rest of the garden.
Finished Result
The completed project has transformed the garden from an uneven and dated paved area into a clean, usable and attractive outdoor space.
The curved Indian sandstone path creates a practical route through the garden, while the new patio provides a smart area for seating, relaxing and enjoying the outdoor space.
The full patio installation was completed from start to finish in just three days.
