A Truly Hands-On Task

This garden was quite large, so it required a fair amount of physical intervention. Perhaps the most challenging aspect was that it had not been properly landscaped in some time. Therefore, many of the initial steps involved removing plants, weeds and similar debris. These would ultimately be replaced with turf in order to provide the property owner with a uniform and eye-catching area to relax.

Dealing with Uneven Terrain

One of the challenges which our team will face on occasion involves uneven terrain. This can cause a host of serious drainage issues and it is not always ideal from a visual perspective. This is why we opted to install a series of steps between the patio and the nearby garden; providing a unique terrace-like appearance to the entire area. These steps also served to visually “break up” the existing landscape while providing the home with a unique touch of class.

The Addition of a Custom-Made Patio

The existing patio had suffered a great deal of damage and its state was even a cause for safety concerns. It was clear that another solution would be needed. We chose to install a series of sandstone paving slabs as a viable replacement. Not only is sandstone one of the most attractive materials to use, but it is relatively easy to work with and it offers superior drainage characteristics. Our experts employed a random pattern (similar to a jigsaw puzzle) so that the design itself was entire unique. This was then complimented by stones of different hues and dimensions.

Needless to say, the client was extremely pleased with the outcome of this project.
