At Lakestone Paving, we recently had the opportunity to transform the exterior space of a residence in Halifax into a picturesque and practical landscape. Our comprehensive project included the meticulous crafting of a driveway, path, patio, and an aesthetically pleasing retaining wall.

Driveway

The centrepiece of our endeavour was the driveway. We laid it out in a dynamic 45° herringbone pattern, providing not just an appealing look but also the durability to withstand the frequent traffic of vehicles. To accentuate the intricate herringbone design, we bordered it with a soldier course—a line of bricks oriented in a contrasting direction to the main pattern. A tasteful single line of natural grey stones was introduced, effectively dividing the herringbone from the soldier course, ensuring that each element stood out while still complementing the whole.

Path and Patio

For the path and patio, continuity in design was key. We employed the same high-quality materials and pattern techniques to create a seamless transition from the driveway to the home’s entryway and outdoor living area. This harmony in design not only enhances the visual flow but also creates a sense of unity throughout the property.

Retaining Wall

The retaining wall was constructed using bricks that resonate with the warmth and texture of the home’s façade. This wall serves the dual purpose of soil retention and visual appeal, featuring an integration of diamond patterns and decorative aprons that mirror the driveway’s design, adding character and a touch of elegance to the entire landscape.

Additional Features

To infuse character into our project, we incorporated diamond motifs within the pattern, offering points of interest and breaking the uniformity with a dash of sophistication. The decorative apron at the forefront of the driveway not only serves a functional purpose but also acts as a welcoming gesture to the residence, echoing the thoughtful details that we believe make a significant difference.

This project stands as a testament to Lakestone Paving’s commitment to detail, quality, and aesthetics. Our goal was to create a harmonious design that not only meets the practical needs of our clients but also enriches the beauty of their homes. With this project completion in Halifax, we have once again showcased our ability to blend functionality with style, crafting spaces that are both beautiful and built to last.
