Artificial Grass and Patios

Patios can be constructed from a wide variety of materials. This will often depend upon the location in question as well as the personal desires of the customer. So, the team at Lake Stone Paving has made it a point to offer a host of unique and long-lasting options.

There can still be times when maintenance is a very real issue. Or, perhaps the existing soil is extremely acidic, alkaline or sandy. In any of these cases, more modern alternatives may be required so that a one-of-a-kind appearance can be achieved. A perfect example can be seen in our artificial grass patios. What are some of the many benefits associated with artificial grass and how can our professionals help? These questions both deserve a closer look.

Why Choose Artificial Grass Alongside a Patio?

There are many reasons why you might be considering to add a patio alongside artificial grass within your garden. Perhaps the most obvious involves the simple fact that artificial turf requires no maintenance. This type of lawn also helps to prevent weeds and pests; an obvious benefit during the warmer months of the year. Here are some other surprising advantages which can be attributed to artificial grass:

  • There are multiple colours and hues to choose from.
  • Thanks to uniform drainage, mud and puddles will no longer present problems.
  • There is no need to purchase any types of pesticides or fertiliser (good news for the environment).
  • You can avoid water restriction fines.
  • Modern artificial grass can last for decades at a time and it is highly resistant to the ultraviolet rays of the sun (no fading).

What are some of the ways in which Lake Stone Paving has employed artificial grass during a patio project? Let’s take a look at a recent project to appreciate the “big picture”

Quality, Visual Appeal and Durability

Stone and artificial grass share a number of traits in common. They are both highly durable and their appearances can vary in accordance with the desires of the customer. In terms of this recent project, we chose to utilise artificial turf within the centre of the garden so that an organic appeal was created. However, designing the periphery was just as important.

We therefore opted for large stone slabs, as these would help to delineate the appearance of the turf. They also helped to break of the appearance of the entire garden; providing it with a bespoke personality.

Besides the borders themselves, our team created an upper patio that was slightly raised above the turf through the use of individual stone slabs. We then included a set of stone steps which provide access to a lower patio adjacent to the house as well as to the upper artificial garden. The end result was a multi-tiered masterpiece which is capable of offering comfort and style throughout the year.

Nearly Limitless Design Options

Artificial grass is pleasing to the eye and thanks to its low-maintenance nature, many homeowners throughout the United Kingdom are choosing this option. Installation is straightforward and this type of grass can be combined with numerous other elements if you have been hoping to completely transform your existing garden. The above project is only one example of what can be accomplished when working with the team of professionals at Lake Stone Paving.
