Beauty from Scratch
This driveway represented a ground-up project and naturally, a fair amount of preparation was required. The ground was first levelled and compacted before a vapour barrier was installed. These elements provided a firm foundation for the subsequent block paving stones.
Why Choose Block Paving Stones?
Perhaps the most desirable quality of block paving is the attractive nature of the stones themselves. A wide array of colours can be chosen and it is possible to configure the stones in numerous patterns. In this case, the interior of the driveway surface displayed a herringbone appearance. These bricks are also extremely durable, they require little maintenance and they offer superior drainage characteristics.
Visually Stunning Patterns
This project was also unique in terms of the amount of artistic liberty we were provided with. As opposed to a simple herringbone style, additional elements were included. These involved a charcoal brick border as well as a central inlay consisting of a number of intertwined squares. The end result was a driveway that exhibited a slightly Greco-Roman flavour; a nice break from the norm in terms of aesthetic beauty.
