Resin Driveway & Front Garden Landscaping
This was one of those jobs where we got to throw everything but the kitchen sink at it! The mission? To take a tired, weedy, and unloved front garden and turn it into a super-slick, multi-textured masterpiece with some serious kerb appeal. We’re talking a pristine resin driveway, a super-smart new lawn, fancy paving, and a garden design that makes you say “wow!”
So, What Did We Do?
- The Great Clear-Out: First things first, we had to get rid of the old stuff. We dug out the entire driveway area, going down a good 10-12 inches to get rid of all the old soil, weeds, and rubble. This gave us a perfect blank canvas to work our magic on.
- Building the Bones: We laid a tough membrane sheet over the whole area to stop any pesky weeds from ever returning. Then came the super-solid foundation – a thick layer of MOT hardcore, compacted down tight. All the stylish new edgings were then set in concrete to make sure they’re not going anywhere.
- The Design & The Base: This is where the style really starts to show. We laid a stunning footpath using gleaming granite slabs and framed the whole driveway with smart paving setts. For the driveway base, we laid a 60mm layer of porous SMA Tarmac. This is the perfect, super-strong, and free-draining base for the resin to sit on. We even tarmacked the path at the very front for a clean finish.
- The Grand Finale: Resin Time! With the perfect base ready, it was time for the star of the show. We hand-trowelled a thick, 18mm layer of gorgeous Grigio Gray resin. The result is a seamless, stunningly smooth, and hard-wearing surface that looks a million dollars.
- Let’s Get Landscaping: This wasn’t just a driveway job! We created a whole new garden. We built a beautiful, curved retaining wall using chunky wooden sleepers, laid a brand new, lush turf lawn, and planted a magnificent feature palm tree to create a real focal point. For a final touch of texture, we filled the new flowerbeds with stylish slate chippings.
