Tarmac Resurfacing in Todmorden
This project was a large, 70-square-meter tarmac resurfacing job in Todmorden, designed to rejuvenate a tired and patchy driveway. The existing base was structurally sound, making it a candidate for a cost-effective overlay. The goal was too restore a clean, uniform, and durable surface that would enhance the entrance to this beautiful modern home.
Surface Preparation
The process began with meticulous preparation of the existing 70-square-meter surface. The entire driveway was thoroughly swept and cleaned to remove all loose stones, dirt and organic matter, ensuring the new layer would bond perfectly.

Tack Coat Application
To create a powerful adhesive bond between the old and new layers of tarmac, a hot bitumen tack coat was evenly applied across the entire surface. This is a crucial step to prevent the new layer from shifting or delaminating over time.
Tarmac Laying
A new layer of high-quality, hard-wearing stone mastic asphalt tarmac was laid over the prepared surface. Our experienced team carefully hand-raked the tarmac to the correct thickness, ensuring it followed the elegant curves of the driveway and met the existing edges and patio areas perfectly.
Compaction & Finishing
The new tarmac surface was then compacted using a heavy-duty roller. This process creates a dense, smooth, and highly durable finish, ensuring the driveway is ready for vehicle traffic and will stand the test of time.
